Blinkenshell Paid Service

I’ve been thinking of setting up another server for Blinkenshell to host paid accounts. This would be a more professional server, hosted in a dedicated datacenter with redundant Internet connections, 10/100Mbit/s, UPS, backup diesel power generators and so on. I’m thinking maybe 500MB quota, one open TCP port for servers or bouncers, and more generous limits on resource usage and more allowing rules. Because of the datacenter hosting, this service will not be free of course. I’d like to know how much you would pay for such a service? Please vote (and comment!) πŸ™‚

Of course I would like the cheapest alternative (:-P) but I could go as far as 3$… I mean, cutting the 53K7LÜNCHes down could save me enough money for that πŸ™‚

another cool thing for this would be allow us to use our own domains with reverse dns

If I knew enough about Linux, I’d pay more but I just wouldn’t make the most of it. Far easier to pay off Indy and ask him nicely for stuff πŸ˜‰

#2. Use your own domains is no problem, reverse DNS is another issue since it requires one uniqe IP per vhost/reverse. I’m not sure I can get one IP per user, but a couple should not be a problem.

You’ll just have to call it a web host, instead of a shell service, to make people less hesitant to pay. πŸ˜‰

It’s already better than a lot of web host packages in most ways, and the only thing it “misses” is FTP access. Well, that and decent uptime, but uptime is something the move to a data center should solve.
